As another neighbouring county, many of you will be interested to note that Rhondda Cynon Taf’s active travel consultation is now live.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council would like you to share your views on the active travel routes that you currently use and which routes you would like to see developed in the future.

Truth be told, we’re not expecting great things from RCT and, following a quick scan of the maps they have provided, they have just about met those expectations. Aside from the Taff Trail, which has bike-unfriendly barriers all the way along the RCT section, the council seems to be only vaguely aware that people ride bicycles for anything beyond sight-seeing and touring. Strange for a county that has a rather large university at the centre of it.
They have supplied a map for each village, but the Taffs Well, Treforest, Hawthorn and Talbot Green maps will likely be of particular interest to us. If you ride into Cardiff from further out than that, good on you! If you are looking for Treforest Estate it is on the Hawthorn map.
As with the other localities, RCT has a survey for you to complete once you have digested the maps.
The closing date for this one is 15th January 2016, so you have plenty of time.
