Arriva Trains Wales Industrial Action – 4th January 2016

If there was ever a reason to get 2016’s new year’s resolution to get fit off on the right foot, a train strike on 4th January is probably it.

Trains on Sunday 3 January will be very limited due to the cancellation of many services. The industrial action may also cause disruption to early morning services on Tuesday 5 January.

We are unable to provide replacement bus services on Monday 4 January as there are insufficient numbers of buses available to cover the 1000+ services we run each day.

Fortunately, the one form of transport resolutely unaffected by strikes is the humble bicycle. Why not take that to work instead?

Ride Buddies

If this is something you want to do, but you feel the need for some company to overcome the fear factor, please get in touch with us on Twitter, Facebook or in the comments below. We’ll try to pair you up with a veteran.

–From Caerphilly

We’re aware of a veteran travelling from Caerphilly to Cardiff at around 7:15am. If this is of use to you, please contact Alastair.

–From Taffs Well

My start time is reasonably flexible in the mornings, but I’m aiming to be on the road from about 7:30, should you want some company from Taffs Well. We can either take the Taff Trail,  or take a ride through the streets of Radyr or Whitchurch if you wish to avoid the mulch. All depends how confident you are feeling.

–From Penarth

Steve is setting off from Penarth and heading towards Llandaff between 8:00-8:30. If you are travelling from there, get in touch with Steve.
