Something to watch: Inspired to Ride

Inspired to Ride from Mike Dion on Vimeo.

From the director of Ride the Divide, Inspired to Ride is another documentary about an epic bike ride, but this time on road.

The Tran-Am Bike Race is an unsupported ride across the USA, along the Trans-America Trail. Just like Ride the Divide, this is another story of endurance, determination and jaw-dropping scenery. It’s full of likeable characters, including the late, great, Mike Hall.

If the idea of an unsupported long-distance ride appeals to you, but 4,233 miles of it seems a little much, you could try an Audax –140 miles is far more manageable. You can always work your way up from there to 600km and beyond.

We absolutely love this movie. The idea of touring by bike and camping on route appeals to us greatly. We’d obviously take a lot more time over it than they did in Inspired to Ride, but it was a race, after all.
