Tenovus North to South Wales Cycle Ride

If you feel like a challenge; a chance to see some more of our fine country and also raise money for Tenovus, listen up!

Tenovus is organising a ride from north Wales to south Wales for March 2017. All you need to do is pay the £99 registration fee (£79 each for a team) and raise around £499 in sponsorship.

Oh, and cycle 230 miles along the length of Wales in two days.

We would like to invite YOU or a team of friends, family or colleagues to sign up for this experience of a lifetime while helping to raise money for cancer patient and their loved ones. This spectacular cycle route will run the entire length of Wales. Accommodation, meals and transfers are all included, so all you have to do is pedal!

  • On the 17th you’ll travel to Colwyn Bay for dinner and a pre-event briefing before getting some rest.
  • The 18th will see you ride 114 miles from Colwyn Bay to Aberystwyth by way of forest tracks, minor roads and railway paths. This part goes through Snowdonia National Park, so may be a bit hilly…
  • The 19th should be a relatively straightforward hop from Aberystwyth to Brecon to the start of the Taff Trail that you’ll follow all the way home.

They recommend a road or hybrid bike for the challenge, so the surfaces should be pretty reasonable. However, the fun part will be recovering after the first leg quickly enough to enjoy the rest of the trip.

If you’re not quite sure this is for you and would like to know a little more, there’s an information evening on 24th November at 6:30pm at Pedal Power, Pontcanna.

There’s a Facebook page for the main event and also one for the Information Evening.

This is very tempting, actually. We may well see you there.
